Who we are
We want to create an environment where we partner with the Holy Spirit in the following areas of Community life:
Those who are part of The Station will be taught how to be serious desciples (apprentices) of Jesus, as we represent Him to those around us (2 Corinthians 5:20). To produce and develop in decipleship (as Jesus called it in Matthew 28:19) will be the primary goal of this church and will influence all we do walking with others.
Those in of The Station will have a heart for being involved in our local community and in activities that express the love of God outside of our internal church activities and church events.
Those in of The Station will have be taught that Scripture is the basis for living, not content knowing the Bible only at surface level, but to desire deep understanding of the entire Bible - bringing about transformation in our lives. Church leadership will be committed to see that Scripture is taught deeply with the goal of those in this fellowship becoming “self-feeders” of Scripture (Hebrews 5:11-14).
Those who are part of The Station will serve each other so that we experience true community (Acts 2:42-47; John 13:34-35) - it will be about fellowship in nature not just in name. We will be passionate about helping people discover how God desires each to be a very valuable part of being in the “body of Christ” (the Church - 1 Corinthians 12:27).
The “family” will be highly valued, taught about and supported with the various ministries developed )marriage, family, children, youth etc), as family is critical in the shaping of our society and culture (Matthew 19:4-6, Deuteronomy 6:4-9).
Those in of The Station will have a passion for “the lost” (those not yet saved by the blood of Jesus) The mission of the church has never changed, “to go out into the world and make desciples…” (Matthew 28:18-20) This remains the mission statement of The Station - those at The Station will be encouraged and equiped to fulfil the great commission - to share the Gospel.
The Station Community Church will not measure success by attendance, professionalism or production, but instead will measure the growth of Gods character in each individual (the increase of their love for God and for people) Matthew 22:37-39.
At The Station, the “Church” will not be something you go to, but something you are. As a fellowship we are committed to journey with Jesus Christ and with each other in community. We are a group who see a lifestyle engagement with each other and our communities as a natural outworking of our faith.
